Long-tail keyword
A longer, more specific search query with lower volume but higher intent and less competition.
Long-tail keywords are specific, multi-word queries such as “best free analytics tools for solopreneurs” rather than the broad head term “analytics”. Individually they have low search volume, but collectively they make up the majority of all searches.
Because they are specific, long-tail terms usually convert better and are easier to rank for. Targeting them is the foundation of both programmatic SEO and focused comparison content.
